Since she was born on November 7, 1991, Corey was
passionate about music. When she landed the lead role of Carmen in the opera
"Carmen" at her school, Corey discovered her love for singing,
acting, and being on stage. She started taking piano, voice, acting, and dance
lessons. Quickly finding her first agency, Corey booked her first couple acting
jobs with Cartoon Network, where she was in a pilot called "On the
Spot" and did a segment with the Jonas Brothers. She booked her first
modeling job for a national Walmart ad, and quickly after booked a fashion show
for Ziami. She also booked a clothing ad for Skirt! magazine. "Everything started
happening so fast! Before I knew it, I had a notebook full of songs, a full
resume, and I knew exactly what I wanted to do," Corey says.
Before she knew it, Corey was in the studio for the
first time, recording a demo for Lindsay Lohan called Close the Door which she
co-wrote. Though the demo was never finished, Corey realized her true passion
for songwriting and being in the studio recording. "I feel at home in the
studio. Sometimes, I have to be in there (the studio) for hours and hours, and
it doesn't bother me at all. I just love it."
When asked by TBA Radio why she thinks people have
taken on to her the way they have, Corey just laughs. "You know, myspace
is amazing. Your music can be heard all around the world, just through a simple
website. I have people from Germany and England messaging me saying how much
they like my music. It's incredible! I feel like I write about things that
people can really relate to, whether it's an eight year old or a twenty year
old. I'm just glad they like it!"
So, take a good look, because this girl is just getting started! And it looks like she's going to be around for awhile. "This is what I love to do, and I'm so happy doing it," Corey says smiling. "I want to have a long career. I don't want to be one of those girls who comes and goes. I'm just so excited to get my record out, and I'm so grateful to all my fans!"
